Merry Christmas and a happy new year!!!

this year is almost to an end. A lot has happened in the Green house. Emma turned 3 in July, Chris got a new job in August working for APX Alarm and loves it, I started teaching again and oh yeah, Everett was born September 18th. He is now 3 months old and is eating solid food. He loves it. He fights the bottle and we really only give him a bottle when he is half asleep. Good thing he sleeps a lot. He is so cute. He has the cutest smile. He can now roll over onto his back from his stomach. He loves to stand. He is probably 15 pounds now. He is solid and very heavy.
Emma is so cute. lately she has been into watching Cinderella, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Lady and the Tramp and Baby Einstein. Mom got Everett the baby einstein, but Emma loves it. It is all about animals and she loves animals.

I love this time of year. I love the smells of Christmas, the goodies, the lights, the Christmas tree, celebrating the birth of the Savior. This year we have really been focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. I like Santa, but since Emma is getting older I would rather instill in her that Christmas is about the Savior. We still get excited about Santa and reindeer, but right now she has no idea about what santa is all about.

Since Emma has been watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer a lot lately, she has also been singing the song. It is so cute. She loves to sing. I find her singing to her stuffed animals. Or if we are listening to the radio and a certain christmas song comes on that talks about christmas or has the word christmas she will come in and make her stuffed animals dance to the music. So fun to watch. I love Christmas music!

Every morning when Emma wakes up we go to the advent calender. ours is a wooden christmas tree that has 25 little doors on it. I put candy in it so when she opens it we all get a piece of candy. then we have little ornaments that you can put on the knobs of the tree. Emma loves it. I dump all of the ornaments on the ground and let her decide which one she wants to put on. She will go through each one naming what it is and then decide. It has been so much fun this year to see her understanding of things.

Every monday for FHE we have been doing a lesson on Christmas and what the real meaning of Christmas is. Well, the other day Davis, Kayla and Brendan spent the night and I asked them why we have Christmas. I don't remember their answers but we talked about the birth of Christ and a little about why he needed to come, that because of him we have a way to return back to heavenly father, then we watched "The Nativity," the one that the church put out. I got to bear my testimony to them. The spirit was strong. They are such great kids. I just love them. If you want to know what it means to be "pure in heart" just hang out with them for a while and you will see.

Tonight Chris and I took Emma to see some Christmas lights. We drove around and found the coolest thing. This house was all decked out with lights and the lights were set to a radio station and it was a light show. It was so neat to watch. We are going to take our family on Christmas Eve to see them. There are two houses that we went to that were all decked out. One of them was like the Griswald family Christmas house, but better. It had tons of stuff. It had a life size santa on the roof in a plastic box that moved back and forth with a sleigh and reindeer. it looked really good, but all of the lights that were set up was a destraction to the light show. It was still awesome though. I liked the other house though. The light show was more entertaining. I am sure they have those everywhere where someone has there lights set to music. Super cool!

Well, we hope everyone has a great Christmas and a fun New Year!
