Ahhhh, Christmas Time!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.
December 9th we had a really good Snow fall. The 10th we decided to go and play in the snow. Emma loved walking in it.

She fell down a couple of times and decided that it was too cold to put her hands in the snow and try to get up.

She is so sweet. She didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. I think that she was doing a mixture of both. She was having fun, yet the cold was really cold. We were at my Uncle Alan and Aunt Rhonda's the other day, and every time my uncle has a cup of ice with water Emma likes to go to him and she will look at him waiting for him to give her some ice from his cup. She loves ice. It is so cute. There was one time he let her get her own ice. She stuck her hand in the water and didn't take it out. She started crying but still kept her hand in the icy water. Silly girl!

Emma was discovering that her hands were wet and cold. I put one hand in my scarf and Chris grabbed the other hand and we were blowing hot air on them to warm them up. We thought that it would be wise to go inside to put her gloves on, but by that time I think that we all were funned out and wanted to get warm.

Now for the more serious part of the letter. Me being a Seminary Teacher I am thinking and reflecting a lot about the Savior, The whole reason that we even have Christmas. I read an article in this months Ensign of a girl who went to Jerusalem to study at BYU. They had an opportunity to go to Bethlehem and she observed the condition of the Shepherds and the sheep. She saw that during the night the Shepherds held the younger sheep so that the predators could not get to them so they would be safe. The Shepherds didn't have warm clothing and they were torn and ragged. She thought about how that related to the Son of God. Jesus Christ was born in the most humblest of circumstances. A King of the Earth, born in a stable where there were animals and straw and flies and waste. Not a nice picture. Yet, with all of that, he still came. His whole purpose in coming to earth was not to oppress, not to get gain of the world, but to serve and to suffer and die for us so that we can have all that Heavenly Father has. He didn't have wealth of the world, but wealth of heaven. He is our Shepherd to keep us safe, to free us from sin and bondage from Satan.
I know that you have all heard of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Grinch hated Christmas and wanted to stop it from coming. what did he do? He went down and took everything he thought that made Christmas, like presents, decorations and food. When Christmas morning came he looked forward to hearing the Who's cry Boo-Hoo. It continues with,

So he paused. And the Grinch put his hand to his ear.
And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.
It started in low. Then it started to grow...
But the sound wasn't sad!
Why, this sound sounded merry!
It couldn't be so!
But it WAS merry! VERY!

He started down at Who-Ville!
The Grinch popped his eyes!
Then he shook!
What he saw was a shocking surprise!

Every Who down in Who-ville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming!
IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!

And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?"
"It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
"It came without packages, boxes or bags!"

And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store.
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"

Let all of us remember the real meaning of Christmas. It is not about Santa Claus, though he is giving. But the ultimate gift is the gift of the Savior and what he has and will give us now and throughout eternity as long as we prove worthy of it.
We love all of you very much.
We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that the Lord blesses all of you with the things that you stand in need of this year.
Love,
The Green Family

Emma is talking more!

Well, Emma is now a jabber box. She loves to jabber. She is also saying a few real words like "Wow" and "Bye Bye Potty." She says "Please" really well in sign language and now "Thank You." She says please a lot because she is a bottomless pit and wants to eat all of the time. I don't mind that she uses her manners. She is so stinkin' cute. Any time she hears me or Chris in the bath room she will run in and wait for us to flush the toilet so she can wave the potty down the toilet. Occasionally she will say "bye bye potty." If I am in the bathroom getting ready she will just lift the lid of the toilet and start waving. It is so fun having her around. It is interesting the things kids do. Oh, Emma says "Dog" as well. Her favorite stuffed animal is a dog. Last night when we put her in bed she was a little fussy. Daddy went and got puppy dog out of the drier and right as he handed it to her she layed on her dog and went to sleep. Definitely a comfort for her.

Emma has also figured out how to take off her diaper. The other day I was talking to Chris as we were eating lunch or dinner and he said, "You know, every time I see Emma she just gets more and more beautiful." I look back at her and she is completely naked walking around carrying her diaper. She is so cute with her little bummy. Babies are so fun. Well, she is now a toddler. I can't believe it. Time flys so fast.

Chris and I got family pictures the other day. Mom took them and I think that they turned out really good. Here they are.

Emma is such a good girl. She has such a beautiful smile. Chris is Hot too! He is such a good dad and husband.

Man! He is Hot!!! Wooot Woooooooooot!!!!!!!!!

Have a Wonderful day!

The Changing of The Seasons

Life Here is has been very eventful. Emma is growing very big. She has a cold so I have to keep the Kleenex's close by. I love this time of year. Not really being outside, but knowing that it is cold outside, curl up in a blanket and drink hot chocolate. If I have time I like to read a book too. Since it has been cold outside I have decided that it is time to bake. I started buying pumpkins to bake with. Mmmm! I have made some pumpkin pies with candied pecans (Delish), and I made some Pumpkin Ribbon Bread. I started listening to Christmas music too. I find that it creates a nice little atmosphere that makes life a little more jolly. I love the holidays. I have candles that smell good too like cinnamon apple so I don't have to bake to get the yummy aromas. I look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not necessarily the hustle and bustle or the gifts, but to remember what it is all about and to give thanks for what I have. Teaching Seminary has been really good. I found a talk on line from Jeffrey R. Holland called "Maybe Christmas Doesn't Come from a Store." It is really good. I think everyone should read it.

Emma is so fun to play with. She loves to run and be chased and tickled. When Daddy comes home that is what they do. Last night before bed we all played. Chris would go down the hall and Emma would start to follow. Chris would turn around and start for Emma who then would turn around and run to me. I would pick her up in time so daddy couldn't tickle her. She loved it and would laugh and want more. It went on for quite some time, way passed her bed time. It wore her out and she slept really good. It is times like that when we need a camcorder.

I am really excited about our Christmas Eve gift. I am going to make Chris and I some pajama pants. Chris is going to get us shirts to go with. I might make some for Emma. I am not an expert, but it will be fun.

Emma loves to play with her belly button. If you say "Ding Dong" she will lift up her shirt and push in her belly button. So cute! If you Say "Where's Emma" she will cover her face looking through her fingers, then take her hands away from her face for you to say "there she is" and want to do it again.
Emma loves to draw. We bought her some crayons, regular and some for the bath tub. It is fun. She had a bubble bath and drew on the bath tub walls. She is so cute. I am still trying to figure this out. The pictures didn't go where I wanted them to go. Oh Well!
