Our Happenings

Emma and I have been spending a lot of time outside. Ihave been raking leaves and getting it ready for summer and for our garden. I am so excited for spring and to have a garden. It has been beautiful outside lately. Emma, Everett and I have gone to the zoo twice already. Emma has loved it. I took the wagon this last time and Everett did so good. I didn't have to pull out the carrier at all. Last time we went to the zoo I had him in the carrier I felt like I was 11 months pregnant. Heavy boy! My body was screaming at me by the end of the day. Never again!!!

We have been letting Zeke Play outside too. Only in the back yard though. He has no front claws, so if a dog came around he would be dog meat for sure. He is loving it. Everyday he comes around meowing at me. I check his food and water bowl and they are fine. I clean his litter and he doesn't go there. I open the back door and he runs right out. Silly cat.

Emma likes to pick up ants and play with them. She has no idea that she is squishing them.

We are finally getting Emma tested for autism. The scheduled appointment is April 14th I believe. I have to double check. I am anxious to see if she is or not, that way we can take the proper steps in her education. She is really smart, but there are a few things that she does that makes me question.

Everett has been teething for about a month and a half now. He finally has a tooth that popped through. the other one is about to pop out. poor guy. His two bottom teeth have been trying to come at the same time. My friend told me that her midwife told her to get "liquid calcium" to help with teething. She used that on her daughter and the teeth came in without all the fuss. Amazing. I need to get some of that.

So Everett does not crawl yet. He scoots himself backwards and this is where he scooted himself. He was so happy to see that I found him. What a cute little boy.

I let Emma help me make lunch. She is becoming quite the cook in her own mind. I am planning on making her an apron soon and really letting her help me in the kitchen. She is in the kitchen as I type this helping daddy make cheesy egg and tomato burritos for breakfast. Mmmm!

This is the cake I made for a cake auction that the scouts had. Everyone thought it was store bought. It went for $20.00. It was a yellow cake made from scratch. It was so good. There was one cake that went for $295.00. I thought that was a little crazy. Oh well, it went to a good cause. The sister who bought it was excited about the cake. She said her kids couldn't believe that I made it. they kept asking her if I really made it and they kept saying, "there is no way that she could have made this. IT IS SO PERFECT!" I could see the flaws in it. I am glad that they liked it. I am not as good at decorating cakes as Monica, the cake queen, but someday.....Someday! I plan on taking more cake decorating classes when our pockets will allow. I really enjoyed making it. I made another cake just for us. It was really good. It was a chocolate cake from a box. I ran out of ingredients to make one from scratch again.

I didn't bother trying to make it look perfect as you can probably tell.

She's a STAR! She thought it would be fun to put on moms sunglasses.

He is so proud of himself. What a big boy.

He has now pretty much graduated from tummy time. When he does get on his tummy he gets right on his knees.
He loves to sit up now and play with his toys.

Look at those blue eyes and the drool coming off of his chin. Lovely!

Emma in the kitchen. She kept saying that she was making cupcakes.

Tummy Time

Everett in his little bouncer. He doesn't realize how fun this thing can be. Emma loved to bounce and would bounce for hours, fall asleep in it and get startled and wake up and just start bouncing. Everett is all about the toys for about 10 minutes and then wants mommy again. I am not sure, but I think he has started to say "momma." He knows!!! I need to teach him to say Dad.
